I used to write poems throughout the week and share them on sunday, I got away from it as I do with a lot of things. Justin Timberlake’s new song kinda inspired me, I think in some ways it’s just a love poem in the form of a song and I’m into it.
Please enjoy.
In the depths of my selfish desire,
I long for you, my heart on fire.
To claim your love, to own your soul,
To make you mine, to take control.
I want your laughter just for me,
Your smiles, your tears, your ecstasy.
To bask in the glow of your affection,
Ignoring the world, our own reflection.
I crave your touch, your every breath,
To share our moments, escaping death.
To shut out the world, its noise, its call,
And keep you close, through it all.
In my selfishness, I know it’s wrong,
To cage your spirit, to silence your song.
But in this longing, I can’t deny,
The selfish urge, the desperate cry.
So forgive me, love, for this selfish plea,
To have you all, just you and me.
For in my heart, this truth I find,
I want you selfishly, to call you mine.
Where the skies are gold not gray,
J.
Thanks for being here.
